Stress Management Techniques

As the world in which we live becomes increasingly stressful both physically and emotionally we are left with two choices:

  • either we avoid stressors

  • or we learn how to deal with it effectively

It is, of course, impossible to avoid stress, and therefore the only real solution is to find ways to manage the stresses and strains we encounter each day.

There are many different ways to manage stress. These are among the simplest and most effective, arranged in a simple format. Try as many as you can, keeping an open mind, so you can have a collection of techniques that are the most effective for you.

 

FACT: with 7.5 million full time employees, and 3.2 million part-time employees, absenteeism is costing the Australian economy a staggering $31 billion per annum, or 3% of GDP.1
 
FACT: between 80 and 90 percent of all illnesses are linked to stress, and 75 to 90 percent of all visits to the doctor are for stress and anxiety-related concerns.2
